Questions
Enemies to lovers OR friends to lovers?
Enemies to lovers! Every time. The angst, the will-they-won’t-they! I always feel like friends to lovers is super predictable and often too sweet for me to be super excited about.
Story told for one perspective OR from multiple perspectives?
Multiple perspectives! I feel like you get to know more of the characters by seeing things from their point of view and it can also help to keep things interesting by jumping between settings and situations.
Series OR standalone?
Series! There’s honestly nothing better than falling in love with a book only to find out there’s another few that follow it. I’m such a sucker for getting to follow the same character on different journeys and standalones often leave me with too many questions π
One book at a time OR multiple books on the go?
Oooh this one depends on my mood. I usually have multiple books on the go – a physical book and an ebook or a hardback and a paperback. This comes from me often needing something light to take on my commute and if I’m currently reading a hardback, I’ll pick something else up as well.
Fiction OR Non-Fiction?
Again this one depends on my mood! I do love a bit of non-fiction but I’m much more picky with it than I am with fiction. Overall I do read more fiction so I’d have to go with that!
Daytime reading OR nighttime reading?
Ugh this is another mood dependent one. Does anyone else struggle with feeling that you should be doing something else when you read during the day? π I have recently gotten back into the habit of setting aside some time to read before bed and I’m loving it so I guess we’ll go with nighttime reading.
Contemporary OR fantasy?
FANTASY!! Contemporary stories can be fun and I wouldn’t turn them down but I love being able to escape into made up worlds full of magical creatures and lore π
and for my question…
Hardback or paperback?
Anyone else choose the format based on the type of book? π Thrillers will typically be paperback (as I don’t tend to keep them once they’ve been read) but fantasy/historical will be hardback. And don’t get me started on the books in a series having to match!
Tagging: Jo, Bree, Nya, Ashleigh, Alicia, Shannon and Sarah
What would your answers be to these questions? Would any be the same as mine? Iβd love to know!
You can always find me over on Twitter if youβd like to discuss this post (or any others that Iβve featured) in more detail π

I have never seen anyone put the paperback and hardback answer soo accurately!!! I love hardback covers when I want to keep the book!!

Exactly! But it does always make me sad when I read a series that came out a while ago and it only available in paperback ππ

I also feel the guilt when I read throughout the day! I think I’m more of a night reader, purely because I find it a nice way to relax and a good way to take time away from the screens that I’ve been staring at all day haha

I do the same thing with having multiple books on the go! I usually have a physical book and an ebook or audiobook for when I’m on the go or just in case I forget my book π
