Tag: Unlucky 13!

We’re in the full swing of spooky season so what better time to do a book tag post that revolves around perhaps the most unlucky number, 13?!

I found this tag over on The Scarlet Reader and couldn’t resist!
(I did add a few more questions to round them up to thirteen, just for fun).

Rules:

πŸŽƒ Answer the following questions.
πŸŽƒ Tag some friends!

Questions:

πŸŽƒ Name a book with a number in the title. (Extra points if it’s the number 13.)

Th1rt3en by Steve Cavanagh!

πŸŽƒ Name a book with a psychic.

Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh (plus a lot of her Psy-Changeling series)

πŸŽƒ Name a book with witches.

Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman – who knows if they’re real witches but I like to think so!

πŸŽƒ Name a book with vampires.

Glass Houses by Rachel Caine! The Morganville Vampires was one of my favourite series 🀩

πŸŽƒ Name a book with werewolves/shapeshifters.

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater. I remember loving this series!

πŸŽƒ Name a tragic book.

Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma! Everything about it from the responsibilities that the kids have to carry to the ending just gets me 😭

πŸŽƒ Name a ‘dark’ book.

Adèle by Leïla Slimani! I read this during lockdown and I had to take a breather a few times because it was so uncomfortable!

πŸŽƒ Name a book you can’t live without. (like a lucky charm!)

The Glass Woman by Caroline Lea. I’d just finished reading it for a blog tour when the author called the bookshop I worked in – she was so lovely and I ended up with a signed copy!

πŸŽƒ Name a book with a black or blue cover.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. This one’s still on my TBR but it’s so pretty!!

πŸŽƒ Name a book that scared you.

The Whisper Man by Alex North – this book had me listening out for whispers in the night for ages!

πŸŽƒ Name a book that makes you think of Halloween.

Hex Life (edited by Christopher Golden and Rachel Autumn Deering). It’s a fantastic collection of witchy stories from some brilliant authors and it perfect reading for spooky season!

πŸŽƒ Name a book that has a scary movie/TV adaption.

IT by Stephen King. I’ve never read this one but the movies definitely made me jump!

πŸŽƒ Name your favourite classic scary story.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Enough said!

Tagging:

Hayley, Lily, Nicola, Livy, Erin, Tan, Jo, Laura, Victoria, Leslie, Shreya and Sienna

Have you read any of these books? What books would you pick for these prompts? I’d love to know!

You can always find me over on Instagram and Twitter if you’d like to discuss these books (or any others that I’ve featured) in more detail πŸ˜Œ
