Anyone else’s TBR pile overflowing? ๐ It’s a pretty constant battle for me (made worse by the fact that I’m constantly brining new books home!) so I’m committing to really trying to get through what I already have before I pick up any more. So far, so good – aside from making my way through my NetGalley shelf!
To help with that, I’ve decided to pick a few books that I really want to read this year. I’ve limited it to just a handful so it’s not off putting from the start and picked the books that have been staring at me for a looong time! ๐ Fingers crossed I get through them!
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
With the upcoming release of this series on Netflix I really need to get around to reading it! I’ve had this book on my shelf since Christmas 2019 so hopefully this is the year I finally read it.
Throne of Glass OR A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas
I’ve still never read anything by Sarah J Maas! I’ve had both of these books for at least six months but can’t decide which series to commit to first – is there one you’d recommend? ๐

The Winter of the Witch by Katherine Arden
I’m such a die hard fan of the first two books in the Winternight trilogy and bought this one immediately when it was released in January 2019 but have been putting it off purely because I don’t want to see the end of Vasya’s journey!
Ghosts by Dolly Alderton
I raved about how excited I was for this book to come out last year (so much so I even managed to snag a proof copy before my pretty signed edition was released) but then we went into another lockdown and I barely read anything. I’m still seeing such fantastic reviews of this book so it’s definitely a priority for me!
The Warlow Experiment by Alix Nathan
I picked up this book on a whim in 2019 as it sounded unlike anything I’d read before. Since then, I read The Doll Factory by Elizabeth Macneal (which I loved) and these books sound like they have the same gothic style that I really enjoy – it’s about time I get around to finding out!

What books are you making a priority to read this year? Are any of them on this list? Iโd love to know!ย
You can always find me over onย Twitterย if youโd like to discuss this post (or any of the others) more or if youโre just looking for some book chat! ๐

I really recommend Throne of Glass – itโs full of plot twists and itโs so good! To start off my reading in 2021, Iโm going to read all the unread books on my bookshelf before I buy any others (then Iโll tackle my lengthy TBR on Goodreads) ๐

So far I’m managing to stick to clearing my tbr too! Oooh maybe I’ll have to go for that series first – thank you!

Heej Hannah! I also made such a shortlist for 2021, but mine is 40 books long. Half of what I hope to read this year. It also includes rereading the Winternight trilogy! And we have a perfect weather for it at the moment. Don’t be too scared to know how the story ends, because it’s one you can easily read over and over again every winter when you have some snow. ๐

Thatโs very true! I think once I get through my netgalley reads Iโll go for it! Itโs easily one of my all time favourite series ๐คฉ
