Books I’ll (Probably) Never Read Tag!

Back again with another tag post! Today’s is one that I actually struggled to put together – I’m one for telling myself over and over that I’ll definitely get to reading a book when, if I’m honest, I know that I won’t.

I was tagged to do this by the fabulous Angela from Hiding Behind Books. Now, if you don’t know Angela, whERE HAVE YOU BEEN? She’s that hilarious unicorn that floats about the Twitterverse making everyone’s day, reminding us to actually read something and is an all around wonderful lady! If you’re not following her already, go – GO NOW! I’ll wait x

๐ŸŒธ A REALLY HYPED BOOK THAT YOU’RE NOT INTERESTED IN READING:

Probably Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. I’ve seen this book everywhere and it’s always a consistent seller from our YA section at work but every time I try to pick it up there’s part of me that just isn’t into it. Bardugo is a popular YA author and one I feel like I should read but I don’t think this will be the book I start with.

๐ŸŒธ A SERIES THAT YOU WON’T START/WILL NOT FINISH:

It’s rare for me to DNF a book but I couldn’t help it with the House of Night series by P.C and Kristin Cast. I made it two books in and, although I know it was pretty popular (and maybe still is idk), I just couldn’t get over the main character changing so dramatically overnight. Just not for me.

๐ŸŒธ A CLASSIC THAT YOU’RE NOT INTERESTED IN READING:

War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. I really loved the TV adaption of this book and I do find the period of history that it’s set in to be interesting but this book is huge and I just don’t think I’ll ever have the wear-with-all of the get through it!

๐ŸŒธ A GENRE THAT YOU’VE NEVER/WILL NEVER READ:

Hmm, probably Science-Fiction. I’m happy to read Fantasy but alien planets and the apocalypse don’t really call to me. But who knows, maybe there’s something out there that will change my mind!

๐ŸŒธ A BOOK ON YOUR SHELVES THAT YOU’LL NEVER READ:

It has to be Tangerine by Christine Mangan. I bought this book a few months ago at it was a Waterstones BOTM and I really wanted to give it a go. It’s not my usual kind of book – it’s a bit of a thriller but I prefer something darker.

And there we have it! There’s me being honest with myself (finally lol) about which books I’ll probably never pick up. What do you think of my choices? Are yours the same? Have I mentioned a book that you loved? I’d love to know!

Officially tagging anyone who wants to give this a go! ๐Ÿ“š

You can always find me over on Instagram and Twitter if youโ€™d like to discuss this post (or any others that Iโ€™ve created) in more detail ๐Ÿ˜Œ

  1. You’re lucky you only read two books of the House of Night. I was obsessed with that series in high school and read at least eight of them (I have no idea how many there are) and it definitely doesn’t have the best message and the main character sucks.

I’m also not into Leigh Bardugo. I read Shadow and Bone but didn’t get excited enough to continue, but my sister loves Six of Crows. Her books don’t interest me either.

I really enjoyed reading this though ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t see many tags like this.

    1. House of Night was the one series that really annoyed me, I just couldn’t take anymore ๐Ÿ˜‚

Lots of people rave about Leigh Bardugo but I’ve heard such mixed things that I wouldn’t know where to start!

Thank you! I’d love to see your answers ๐Ÿ˜Š
