Blogmas Day 29 – DIY TBR Jar!

Hey guys! Welcome back to another day of Blogmas 2018 and today we have another fun bookish DIY. A little something to keep you busy during Chrimbo Limbo! 🎄📚

If you’re anything like me then you have some struggles with deciding what to read next. I’ve been toying with the idea of making a TBR jar to help that process and thought what better time to that New Year! This is a super simple DIY that all bookworms would benefit from.

  • Some kind of jar/container
  • Coloured paper
  • Your TBR list

  1. Gather a list of all of the books that you’d like to read, complete with authors.
  2. Write each title down on a square of paper and fold it up so you can’t see the writing. Repeat this process with the rest of the books on the list.
  3. Put each bit of paper into the jar.
  4. The next time you’re looking for something to read, just pull out a piece of paper and the decision is made!

  • If you’re someone whose reading preferences change, you could colour code the paper!
    • Choose different colours for different genres, or one colour for a long book and another for a shorter read, etc.
  • You could use this as a way to set yourself a reading challenge!
    • Start in January and try and empty the jar by December.

What do you think of this idea? How’s your TBR list looking right now? I’d love to know! 🎅🏻

Thank you for checking out my Blogmas 2018 posts and I can’t wait to share the rest with you! Check back tomorrow for more festive fun

I’d also just like to point out that I don’t want to cause any offence to those who don’t celebrate Christmas, these posts are just a bit of fun to go along with my own personal celebrations.

You can always find me over on Instagram and Twitter if you fancy a book (or Christmas) chat! 😌🎄
