Blogmas Day 25 – Christmas Tag!

Helloooo guys! Welcome back to another day of Blogmas 2018 and firstly, I’d just like to say MERRY CHRISTMAS! I hope you all have a wonderful day full of all the best food, family and presents. Wishing you guys all of the best for this festive season and a huge thank you for following along with my Blogmas posts, I truly appreciate it! πŸŽ„πŸ“š

As you probably know by now, I absolutely love a tag and what better excuse than Christmas to do one! These questions were taken from a tag site and I edited the two sets of questions together – I felt like 25 was a good number of questions πŸ˜‚ Here you’ll learn a bit more about my experiences of Christmas and I’ll tag some lovely bloggers to have a go too! Anyone I tag is a blog/blogger that I really enjoy so you should definitely go and give them some Christmas love! πŸ’–πŸŽ„πŸŽ

1. What is your favourite Christmas film?

There are so many! Love Actually has to be one of my favourites. Honourable mentions have to include ElfArthur Christmas and the Home Alone movies! If you’re like to know what my top 10 Christmas movies are, you can check them out here!

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?

Yes! We used to have them more often when I was younger but we typically get some snow either before or after Christmas Day, usually lasting well into February πŸ˜‚

3. Where do you usually spend your holiday?

At home. We have Christmas Eve present swap/lunch with my Nan and then Christmas Day starts with opening presents under the tree, chilling, eating way too much food and then napping/watching Christmas films 😍

4. What is your favourite Christmas song?

Probably All I Want for Christmas is You by Mariah Carey but I love this time of year so much that I’ll listen to anything. Christmas in New York by the Pogues is a favourite in our house! You can check out my top 10 Christmas songs here!

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

We started a little tradition when I was younger that I was allowed to open one present that was always a pair of festive pyjamas from my parents. My mom started this as a way to convince me to be all bathed and clean on Christmas Eve otherwise Santa wouldn’t come πŸ˜‚ This still happens now, but in return, I give my parents some chocolate so they have something to open to.

6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

I’m going to attempt this without looking it up!

Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Blitzen, Cupid, Rudolph, Donner, Vixen, Prancer.

Definitely not in any recognisable order πŸ˜‚

7. What holiday traditions are you looking forward to most this year?

Christmas Eve with my Nan. I love watching her open presents as she gets so excited πŸ˜‚ Plus it means that we get to open some presents early – she’s a big fan of buying people spot cream!

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

We used to have a real one for years and I always loved going with my dad to pick one out but they used to make such a mess that now we have a fake one.

9. What is your all-time favourite holiday food/sweet treat?

Yule log! Every time πŸ˜ Or a really yummy hot chocolate – if you’d like, you can check out my recipe for one here!

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?

I feel like everyone loves to receive a gift, especially from someone who’s important to you, and I’m definitely no exception, but I love giving them as well. Watching my parents open gifts that I’ve put some extra thought into is always my favourite. A few years ago I gave my dad a Doctor Who DVD that had an episode on it that his dad was in and he got all teary – it was lovely 😌

11. What is the best Christmas gift you’ve ever received?

I’ve been so lucky to receive a lot of wonderful gifts but one that stands out most is the year that my older brother bought me a limited edition Bratz doll (I was obsessed with them at the time) as we’re nine years apart and not particularly close. I still have the doll, it’s the only one I kept πŸ’–

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?

Somewhere you can see the Northern Lights! I know you can see them from a few different places but I’d be happy to go to any of them.

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?

I am such a pro! Plus I actually really enjoy it, putting on the little bows and ribbons πŸ˜‚ A few years ago I made the mistake of telling my mom that I enjoyed present wrapping so now I do them all πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

14. Most memorable Holiday moment?

Maybe back when my dog was quite young, my uncle let her sit on the sofa (something my mom definitely didn’t love) and stroked her so much that she malted allllll over the seat πŸ˜‚ I was fairly young at the time so I remember thinking that this was hilarious! (Probably one of those you-had-to-be-there moments πŸ˜‚)

15. What made you realize the truth about Santa?

I’m not sure how old I was but my brother told me that the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy weren’t real and it got me thinking about Santa and I think it just kind of clicked.

16. Do you make New Year’s resolutions? Do you stick to them?

I do, but more goals than getting rid of something. I always try to stick to them but they don’t always last very long!

17. What makes the holidays special for you?

I love the festive feeling, everyone always seems a bit happier to me. Spending time with my family and being able to exchange presents is always special for me. Plus I get the excuses to eat all the chocolate and stay snuggled up with a book.

18. What’s your favourite Christmas colour?

Burgundy! It always makes me feel so Christmassy πŸ˜‚

19. Do you like to stay in your pyjamas or dress up for Christmas?

I stay in my pyjamas for as long as possible but we always get dressed up for lunch.

20. If you could only buy one person a present this year who would it be?

That’s so tough! I feel like my parents always deserve more than I could give them so maybe a joint present for them πŸ˜‚ Is that cheating?

21. Do you open your presents Christmas Eve or Christmas morning?

Some on Christmas Eve with my nan but mostly on Christmas morning, first thing.

22. Have you ever built a gingerbread house?

Not before this year! This year I tried to recreate the gingerbread house from Hansel and Gretal – if you’d like to check out how I did, you can find it here!

23. What do you like to do on your Christmas break?

Lots of Christmassy things! Going to the Christmas market, spending time with my family, Christmas shopping and wrapping the gifts, decorating the tree and eating all of the festive food!

24. Any Christmas wishes?

For everyone to be happy, to have a wonderful festive season and for 2019 to bring all the best! πŸ’–

Hope you enjoyed getting to know my Christmas habits! I’d love to hear about yours! Are we the same? πŸŽ…πŸ»
